Last week, ENOUGH arranged a joint public event with the Smartchain project. Smartchain is a BlueBio COFUND project seeking smart solutions for advancing supply systems in blue bioeconomy value chains. You can read more about I here. Our projects have one very important thing in common: improving the sustainability of food systems! To highlight this important issue and create synergy between the projects, a joint public event was organised.
The event was entitled “Consumers Role in Sustainable food systems”. It was free and open for everyone, including a free breakfast and a quiz on food. Scientists from SINTEF presented important aspects of sustainable food, such as food waste, rest raw materials, packaging and consumer habits.
From ENOUGH, the interesting results of the survey on Norwegian students’ perceptions and actions in relation to sustainable food were presented. The survey is ongoing in several partner countries of ENOUGH, and the results will be compared to see if students from different parts of Europe have different perceptions and habits when it comes to the environmental footprint of the food we consume.
In the ENOUGH project, not only technological solutions to reduce emissions matter, non-technological aspects are just as important!
